Meet Our Team

Coady Murphy
Campus Ministry Assistant
and Queer Space Leader
Hello there! My name is Coady, and I am the Campus Ministry Assistant and Seminary Intern at Wesley!
I grew up in central Illinois, was born in Decatur, and lived in Atwood Hammond before moving to Champaign in 6th grade. Before entering ministry, I received a bachelors in Landscape Horticulture from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Growing up, I spent time identifying plants with my grandmother and landscape design was my passion. Eventually, however, I recognized a call to serve the church, and now I am attending grad school at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary. I currently live in Champaign with my fiancé Alex. He works in human resources for a local medical group. We enjoy spending time with our 13 nieces and nephews and our families. When we have time, we enjoy going to the lake and hiking.

Caden
Peer Minister
Hi! My name is Caden and I am a senior studying mechanical engineering. I grew up in central Illinois in Clifton. In my free time I like to run or tinker on personal projects. I love hanging around Wesley doing homework between classes. At Wesley I help with Friday with friends and the midweek campfire.

Garrett
Peer Minister
Hey everyone,
I am Garrett, and I am a senior studying political science. During my childhood, I lived in four different communities across central and southern Illinois- Johnston City, Monticello, El Paso, and Mackinaw. My grandparents lived in Urbana and were heavily involved at Wesley, so this community has always felt like home to me. I love serving at Wesley, helping with various programs such as Friday With Friends, Midweek Campfire, movie nights, and the coffeehouse.

Alisha
Social Media Intern
Hi everyone! My name is Alisha and I'm on the pre-law track, double-majoring in English and Political Science, and minoring in Legal Studies. I'm from the southwest suburbs of Chicago and in my free time you'll most likely find me reading, dancing, writing, cooking, or walking around campus while listening to music. Here at Wesley, I'm essentially the Student Marketing Manager, which means I design graphics and flyers for the RSO and help run our Etc. Coffeehouse and Wesley Student Center social media accounts. You'll also find me in the coffeehouse from time to time helping out with special events and International Coffeehouse. I love Wesley for so many reasons, but my top 3 are: the community (you'll meet some of the sweetest and most welcoming people here!), the atmosphere (our study spaces are gorgeous!! the best dark academia vibes on campus for sure), and the student events (be it free coffee/snacks, movie nights, or s'mores straight from a fireplace/campfire, Wesley genuinely has it all).

Ariana
Peer Minister
Hi! My name is Ariana and I am junior studying kinesiology. I am a peer minister who focuses on student outreach, particularly at Friday with friends and other student groups. Wesley is a fantastic place to connect with people; it is a place that allows you to discover different parts of who you are and the world. Friday with friends is by far one of my favorite weekly events that we hold! It truly is the place to be on Friday afternoons.

Katie
Peer Minister
I come from the very real community of Farmdale, Ohio, and I'm a fifth-year Ph. D. candidate in the Chemistry department. I teach English as a Second Language classes and help run the International Coffeehouse at the Wesley Foundation. I love Wesley because it's a great place to explore the big questions about faith in society while also fulfilling our mission of showing love to the world. Outside of Wesley and grad school, you will likely find me in my apartment with my soon-to-be husband snuggling with our two cats, Patches and Leo.
